It seems that the hype balloon surrounding Warner Bros.' IT still hasn't popped, and fans of the horror are still keen to roll out and see what Pennywise the Dancing Clown has lurking up his baggy sleeves. With a slew of terrified critics and box office success, it is a godsend that 's clown caper isn't stinking out the sewers like the movie's victims.

Despite the writing once being on the wall that we might not get the concluding chapter of 's coulorophobic horror, true fans always knew that IT: Part 2 would be "floating" its way to cinemas at some point. However, with the sequel dealing with a time jump of 27 years and a decidedly darker tone to proceedings, all of Horrorwood is already eyeing up who could play adult versions of our favorite clown-fearing kids.

It's Time To Grow Up

While some of the stars of IT have already tipped the likes of Jessica Chastain and Bill Hader to journey to Derry and play them in the sequel, has been quiet on his dream casting for a more mature Bill Denbrough. Now, speaking to Vanity Fair, the 14-year-old revealed just who he would like to see take on the evil that is "It" when Part 2 crawls out of our nightmares:

"I think Ewan McGregor would be interesting. I don’t want to offend him or anything, but he might be too old. I love Ewan McGregor, and I think he’s a great actor. I think he could play Bill very well."

Although we are promised that the cast of teens will return for flashbacks in Part 2, Muschietti will undoubtedly keep with King's 1986 novel and shift the action to a whole new decade for the Losers' Club. With IT taking a blood-soaked slice of the horror pie, whoever gets to play the adult version of the Losers' Club will be sure to be rolling in the big bucks. Set to make breakout stars out of the likes of Lieberher, we can't surely expect Muschietti to have to his pick of more established Hollywood glitterati for their older selves.

When it comes to casting an older Beverley Marsh, it seems like Amy Adams is almost made for the part, but casting Bill is a little trickier. Lieberher became the de facto lead of Pennywise's first cinematic outing, and you couldn't help but fall in love with stuttering Bill from the moment Georgie was dragged down the storm drain. If anything, casting Bill is probably one of the most important parts to get right, and just like when they were kids, Bill continues to lead the adults in their quest against evil.

McGregor certainly has the credentials to lead the concluding part of IT, and with an illustrious career in the likes of Trainspotting, the Star Wars prequels, and the latest season of Fargo, he's certainly a fit for the role. As for Lieberher's worries about Ewan's age, it isn't actually that much of an issue. Lieberher is currently 14, so aging him 27 years would put him at 41 — with McGregor only 46, it isn't completely outside the realm of possibility. Of course, this all depends on McGregor actually wanting to take the part, but I say he'd be a "clown" to turn it down!
