There is a new love in actor 's life, and it's the script for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. For all of us excited to see the next offering to the X-Men franchise, McAvoy may be even more pumped. In an interview with I Love Rogue, he shared his thoughts on the script:
It's great. It's really good and strong. I think fans will love it. I think people who have never seen any of the [previous] X-Men films before are going to be really into it. I think it's satisfying and giving people what they want, while at the same time being challenging and giving them something different, new, and unexpected.
And how does he feel about the people he gets to work with? Cue enthusiasm:
I can't wait to work with Michael again, [plus] Jennifer and Nick. It's going to be great, we got along so well the first time around. That'll be fun. Then also, getting to team up with Sir Patrick. I don't know if I get to work with Sir Ian [McKellen], but it should be a real exciting time, I think.
I think there's always a risk with actors and actresses who sign on for multiple sequels with a franchise before they even get to see the script for future movies. It's a roll of the dice: If the script is terrible, they're pretty much locked in to the role, anyway. So it's nice to see an actor enthuse over a story in his hands as much as any fan. And who could blame him for being excited to reunite with , , and again, not to mention (Sidenote: Love the way McAvoy give a nod of respect to Stewart and McKellen and addresses them by their titles of "Sir").
(Fun fact: Did you know that Magneto will be officiating at Professor X's wedding? Just IMAGINE the guest list.)
If this script is as good as McAvoy says it is, should we just anoint the King of the Comic Book Adaptations now? Or would you give it to someone else? Let us know in the comments, and don't forget to click [[follow]] up above to stay up to date with all the latest X-Men news.
