Who doesn't love , the man behind movies like Amelie, The City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, A Very Long Engagement, and yes, Alien: Resurrection?

Now, the Frenchman has made another American movie, based on the book The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet by Reif Larsen. Say hello to The Young and Prodigious Spivet, a strange travelogue starring an unusual young boy.

The new trailer for the movie has just hit, and it looks incredibly promising. You can watch it by clicking here, thanks to The Playlist.

The trailer feels a bit -y to me, and not just because is making an appearance. Don't you see a little bit of Big Fish or Pee Wee's Big Adventure in that top-of-a-train scene? It looks very poetic and the lead, , is so freakin' cute! A charming, feel-good family flick might just be what the blockbuster-crammed movie season is missing...

What did you think of The Young and Prodigious Spivet trailer?
