Ever since Gotham City Sirens was announced last year, many fans view Jessica Chastain as the ultimate dream-cast pick to play #PoisonIvy. She has become a notable actress over the years with an incredible résumé under her belt, and she'd make an excellent addition to the #DCEU.
Chastain has yet to have a role in a comic book movie, but in an interview with CinemaBlend, she expressed her thoughts on what would inspire her to play the Goddess of the Green:
I'm interested in all things where the characters are strong and dynamic, and not stereotypes or objects. I like female characters that are subjects, not objects. And so, if Poison Ivy happens to be that, sure. Throw my hat in the ring.
Not only was that a perfect response, but Ivy happens to fill the requirement of being a strong female character with a fascinating and complex nature. She should never be viewed as simply a plant-manipulating seductress, but a passionate and fearless heroine who is dedicated to saving her cause.
Chastain's recent comment is enough to keep hope alive in the hearts of fans who wish to see her bring the iconic #Batman character to life on the big screen.

In addition to Chastain, Megan Fox is rumored to be in the running for the part of Ivy as well due to her recent purchase of a few comic books centered on the character, but only time will tell.
Either way, welcome back Poison Ivy. We've missed you at the movies.
