Ever since IT was released back in August, fans have taken to the internet to prepare their own respective dream casts for the hit horror movie's sequel. With It: Chapter 2 set fifteen years after the Losers Club first encounter with Pennywise, a recasting for the main characters of the film is in order. And as far as an older Bev is concerned, there's only one name that crosses fans' minds and that's of Miss Sloane herself, Jessica Chastain. And now it turns out, Chastain is just as eager to play Bev as the rest of us!
'IT's Fierce Bev
In an interview with Screen Rant, the actress talked about possibly playing Beverly Marsh in #ItChapter2.
"Well, I love Andy and Barbara, I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so… Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen."
Jessica Chastian would no doubt kill it as Beverly in the Stephen King movie, bringing a certain edge to Bev's character. Chastain is also no stranger to horror movies, and was in fact the lead in director Andy Muschietti's debut Mama, for which she earned rave reviews. Muschietti himself has stated that she'd be a perfect fit for the IT sequel, and said to Variety a while back:
"Jessi is an amazing actress and very good friend and I would love her to play Beverly. She loves the movie and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen. There are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast that I’m playing with, but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now."
Both Muschietti and Chastain's remarks indicate that Jessica Chastian could very well end up playing Beverly which is certainly gives us hope that we'll soon see our favorite redhead actress step into the shoes of Sophia Lillis and bring a new life to Beverly Marsh.
