After a busy year for J.K. Rowling, with the publication of her short stories from Pottermore, the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the author is showing no signs of slowing down in 2017, revealing that she's currently working on two new novels!
The author made the announcement via her twitter account after a fan asked whether or not fans could expect a novel from her any time soon:
To which Rowling replied:
Though Rowling was keeping her mouth firmly shut about the subject matter of both novels, she did reveal that one of the novels would be released under her own name, and one would be another installment in the Robert Galbraith detective series, though she wasn't sure which would be released first.

Rowling also confirmed that the main character of Fantastic Beasts, Newt Scamander, would not feature in the novel and would remain a character solely in film. However, she did not deny that the book may contain other characters from the Harry Potter universe, and with Fantastic Beasts giving us more questions than ever before about the magical world, there's certainly more than enough subject matter to be explored.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is in cinemas now, but if you've already seen them, why not check out this theory about Ariana Dumbledore, the possible obscurial:
