J.K. Rowling has long been a steadfast ally to her LGBT fans. And now the author has given her blessing for one of her most famous Dumbledore quotes to be used in a comic book venture in support of the gay community, co-published by IDW Publishing and DC Entertainment.

The 144-page comic book anthology Love is Love is due for release on December 28 as a tribute to those affected by the brutal and senseless Orlando Pulse nightclub attacks last June. It features more than 100 stories featuring such classic characters as Harry Potter, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Archie among many others. All proceeds will go to Equality Florida in aid of the survivors and families of the tragedy.

With the anthology seen as something of a love letter to the gay community, Rowling has provided the following quote to be used alongside an LGBT flag:

"Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open."

Naturally, the mastermind behind the project, Marc Andreyko, was thrilled to have the weight of support from Rowling, and her backing only encouraged him to push the idea further. He revealed to The New York Times:

“If we get the biggest-selling author on the planet, we need the biggest artist.”

Artist Jim Lee's stunning drawing of the crew raising their wands in solidarity will be included within the pages of the comic book.

This isn't the first time Rowling has shown her support for the victims of the Orlando shootings. The writer penned a personal memorial note to Luis Vielma, who was fatally wounded during the attack. Vielma worked at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando and was a huge fan of the magical franchise.

While there will always be hatred in the world looking to trample love, it's heartening to know that Rowling will always be there, metaphorically rising her wand for all that's right and good.
