As promotion for Star Wars: The Last Jedi begins to increase, fans are hearing more tidbits sanctioned by Lucasfilm — and thanks to star John Boyega, a couple that probably aren't. He's just provided some interesting intel regarding Episode VIII, specifically those rumored celebrity cameos.
#StarWars fans will remember the #celebrity cameos featured in The Force Awakens, the most notable of which included Daniel Craig as a Stormtrooper in the scene when Rey is being help captive. Watch it below:
Rumors have been spreading about similar high-profile cameos in The Last Jedi after Prince William and Harry were spotted on set at Pinewood Studios last spring. Thanks to #JohnBoyega on BBC Radio4, we finally have confirmation regarding the British Royals:
“I’ve had enough with those secrets. They came on set. They were there. I’m sick of hiding it. I think it was leaked, anyway. There were images. Every time I get asked, I have to dodge it. I’m tired of dodging it. They were there.”
The rumor is that the princes will portray Stormtroopers, but Boyega went on to reveal that the duo initially had lines; he believes this dialogue was removed, however.
During the radio interview, Boyega also confirmed another big celebrity cameo from actor #TomHardy. There are no details regarding what minor role Hardy would play in the film, but it would be fitting to see him as a Resistance fighter pilot considering his role as a pilot in his latest film Dunkirk.
The Last Jedi will heavily focus on the Resistance's ongoing fight with the First Order. Finn will reportedly take his Resistance dedication a step further as he goes on an intense mission with Rose, a new character played by Kelly Marie Tran. Keep your eyes peeled for celebrity cameos and secret appearances, because if The Force Awakens taught us anything, Lucasfilm sure has more surprises up their sleeves.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15th, 2017!
