This is music to our ears...

, director of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens, has revealed that he believes original Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones composer will be returning to compose for the massively-anticipated sequel.

At a recent press conference for Star Trek Into Darkness, Abrams strongly hinted that Williams is likely to make a comeback to the franchise:

For Star Wars, it's very early days to know, but I believe that going forward that John Williams will be doing that film, because apparently he was there long before I was.

I couldn't be happier! Williams has composed the soundtrack for all six Star Wars flicks until now, and his work on just those movies alone includes some of the most recognizable film music ever made.

I can't even imagine a Star Wars movie without Williams (and I'm not sure that I want to). Do you want John Williams to stay with Star Wars?

Star Wars: Episode VII is set for a 2015 release.
