As far as movie-related rumors go, this is the big one at the moment. Several months ago news first emerged that would be appearing as Batman in Justice League Part One — DC's answer to Marvel's The Avengers. Since then, there has been speculation, counter-claims and counter-counter-claims about JGL's involvement. The rumor even extended so far as to suggest Gordon-Levitt would be popping up as Batman in 's Man of Steel.

It's certainly no secret that DC wants to create some cross-over with their assorted superheroes. Marvel's individual movies have always done good business, but The Avengers was the stand out blockbuster of 2012. has previously remained coyly quiet about the rumors, refusing to either deny or confirm them. With this in mind, MTV went straight to the source and asked Gordon-Levitt himself. Unfortunately, it turns out JGL hasn't even heard about the rumors! I mean, does he never Google his own name or something? Check out what he had to say below:

So is this the final nail in the coffin for Batman's Man of Steel cameo? Perhaps. Personally, I don't think this is such a bad thing. This movie is supposed to be about Superman, introducing another well-known (and arguably more popular) superhero would just detract from that. Additionally, I never thought Nolan's darker and more "realistic" Gotham City would really fit into the same universe as a flying dude from outer space.

In any case, it looks like if it is going to happen, he'll hear about it from Joseph Gordon-Levitt first.

How do you guys feel about this? Is a Batman cameo in Man of Steel something you'd quite like to see? Or do you think Superman and Batman's meeting is better left for the Justice League movie? Let us know below!
