It's been over three months since Josh Brolin was cast as Cable in Deadpool 2 — and in that time, the actor has been hitting the gym hard in preparation. Brolin has taken to Instagram to share his progress on several occasions, and fans have been getting hyped to finally see him portray the time-traveling badass.

Brolin has come a long way, and based on his new haircut and ripped physique, it appears we are close to seeing the first version of in live-action. Since Deadpool 2 has started filming, Brolin decided to show his fans that he has reached the pinnacle of his training, and shared a near-naked post on Instagram showcasing his jacked Cable body.

Josh Brolin Is Absolutely Ripped In His New Instagram Photo

Josh Brolin has shared many pictures of his biceps and workout routines, but this photo is on another level entirely. Sure, Josh Brolin is buckass naked with only a towel and the sink hiding his "little Brolin," but he’s arguably in the best shape of his life. In the text of the post, Brolin comments on his nudity, and shares his mindset when he is in the gym:

“Prevail Activewear. @prevailactivewear. An apparel which induces total insanity, enables you to talk in tongues, and uber-familiarizes you with your package. Our goal is to live in the gym, never leave, consume only from shaker bottles, and pose in front of a myriad of mirrors until we melt from narcissism gigantica. Our hope is that we sell everything so we'll be left with nothing to wear.

Brolin’s Instagram post is a two-fold endeavor, and beyond sharing his ripped physique, he is also promoting his new company, Prevail Active Wear. Moving past the text and promoting his new product, the picture is insanity in human form. Brolin is a 49-year-old man, who is in better shape than a lot of people half his age.

It’s safe to say that is physically ready to take on the role of Cable, and thanks to some behind-the-scenes photos, we have seen that they are preparing the special effects needed to pull off an authentic representation of the character. Brolin is always at the top of his game when it comes to acting, so fans can be sure that he will have what it takes to go head-to-head with Ryan Reynolds.

Deadpool 2 is less than a year away from blowing our minds, and we can’t wait to see Josh Brolin in action. Hopefully, the film will live up to the insanely high bar set by the first film, but we have faith that the sequel can give us even more Deadpooliness (yes, that’s a word).

You can catch Deadpool 2 in theaters on June 1, 2018.
