Josh Radnor, who is mostly known for his portrayal of Ted Mosby in #HowIMetYourMother, had a mixed day last week. Radnor's PBS drama Mercy Street was cancelled after two seasons. But it seems like he wasn't on the market for long.
According to Variety, Radnor has been cast in NBC's pilot Drama High. Drama High is based on the book of the same name written by Michael Sokolove about real-life high school drama teacher, Lou Volpe. Jason Katims will write the pilot and be the executive producer of the show along with Jeffrey Seller.
Josh Radnor will be playing the role of Lou Mazzuchelli, who is described as:
“A left of center leading man who has to discover his own passion, drive and charisma. He is a father of three, husband and an English teacher at a school in a Rust Belt town in Pennsylvania, who decides to take a leap on taking over the drama department and ignites an excitement in him which surprises him and spreads to his students.”
Auli’i Cravalho of Moana fame, Stranger Things fan-favorite Shannon Purser, Rosie Perez, Rarmian Newton and Damon Gillespie will be seen as some of Radnor's student in Drama High.
