Hey MARVEL fans! OMG! We heard some amazing news from MARVEL at Comic Con 2013 about Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the most exciting,The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. As if it could not get any better after Director revealed the title for the long awaited Avengers sequel, he recently sat down to talk about the sequel itself giving some very juicy details that got me EVEN MORE excited for the flick as I think it will excite you more too. Read Whedon’s quotes and scroll down for the entire video interview with Whedon on The Avengers: Age Of Ultron!
Firstly, Whedon talked about how he and MARVEL Studios decided to retell the villain’s, Ultron’s, origin story to fit with The Avengers in the Cinematic Universe that we know and love.
“A lot of people—because we called it Age of Ultron and there was a book, Age of Ultron just recently—assumed that was the storyline we are doing, which is not the case. We’re doing our own version of the original story of Ultron. The other thing is, in the original story, there was Hank Pym. So a lot of people assumed that he was going to be in the mix, but he’s not. Because we’re basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the wayside. Ultron was their chief villain. He’s been the Avengers villain for so long. I was amazed anybody was surprised that it was going to be him in the movie. We are crafting our own version of it where his origin comes more directly from the Avengers we already know about.”
Now that the amazingly well done story about the coming of a group of special individuals known as The Avengers is finished, Whedon says that it’s time to take the team into a little bit of a darker path and around the world; instead of just one location.
“It’s a little bit darker than the other film because Ultron is in the house. There’s a science fiction element that I think is a bit stronger than the other film… It is very much a global Avengers film. A lot of the movie has to do with their place, not just in America, but in the world.”
Here is something that should excite a lot of you. Hawkeye, who was not a part of the Avengers team for most of the first film, will most definitely be part of the team and Whedon is excited to see the character interact with the team like never before!
“Part of the fun for me this time around is writing Hawkeye. Because he did get possessed pretty early by a bad guy and had to walk around scowly for most of the movie last time. So now it’s nice to actually have the character there and really see him interact with the other guys.”
It could not get any better could it? Well tell us what you thought about the details from the man himself? Are you excited for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron? What are you excited to see in the sequel? Comment below, let us know!
