Warning: This article contains major spoilers of Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2, and potential spoilers of the upcoming episode "Camelot/3000."

Back when Season 2 of Legends Of Tomorrow had yet to air, one thing we were most looking forward to was the debut of the Justice Society Of America. An iconic comic book faction, the JSA played a significant role in the first few episodes of the season, and were even responsible for giving us our new Legend — Vixen.

However, the team of were dealt a grueling blow when their leader Rex Tyler was murdered by the Reverse Flash — Eobard Thawne. And aside from Vixen's alignment with the Legends and Obsidian's appearance in the present, the iconic heroes got on with their lives in 1942. But it looks like they are set to make a spectacular return to our screens in the upcoming episode "Camelot/3000."

The JSA Are Back... In Time

This season's storyline has saw the Legends do their utmost to stop the Spear Of Destiny falling into the Legion Of Doom's hands. However, they now find themselves at a disadvantage as Damien Darhk, Malcolm Merlyn and Eobard Thawne have already procured one piece of the puzzle. But judging by the synopsis of the next episode, it seems the Legends will have help keeping the Spear safe:

The Legends continue their quest to hunt down the Spear of Destiny before the pieces fall into the hands of the Legion of Doom. The Legends discover that pieces of the Spear are each being guarded in different time periods by members of the JSA. Their first stop is the future where they find Dr. Mid-Nite (guest star Kwesi Ameyaw) which eventually leads them to the past and King Arthur’s Camelot, where Stargirl (guest star Sarah Grey) is protecting her piece of the Spear. In order to protect the Spear shard from the now-evil Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), the Legends must join forces with the Knights of the Round Table.

The return of the Justice Society Of America is sure to be a joy, but it raises many questions — first and foremost, we must wonder who transported the JSA members to the different time periods? Remember, they laughed at the idea of time travel when they first met the Legends. And if the Legends aren't responsible for recruiting the JSA — who is?

On another note, their resurfacing could be down to the fact that the Legends figured out Eobard Thawne was the one responsible for Rex Tyler's death. Perhaps they decided to take it upon themselves to protect the pieces of the Spear in honor of their fallen leader. Either way, all hell will undoubtedly break loose when the Justice Society of America and the Legion Of Doom collide.

Will The JSA Reclaim Rip's Memories?

Another integral part of the Legion's plan has been to use the Legends' captain — Rip Hunter — for their own gain. While initially threatening the amnesia-plagued Time Master, they eventually regained his memories, but altered them a little. Now the once emotional Rip feels nothing for his former crew — and chillingly proved so last week when he killed Sara Lance. Of course, she was revived by Gideon, but the whole team felt the blow of Rip's defection.

Furthermore, we know that both he and the JSA will be featured in the upcoming episode, and it raises questions about how they will interact. Now, bare in mind that Rip shows up with Damien Darhk — during what seems to be the Camelot portion of the episode — both of whom likely have evil intentions. Rip is dressed in black and is clearly still under the Legion's influence.

However, in the trailer for "Camelot/3000," we catch a brief glimpse of Rip — not only wearing his trademark brown coat, but leading the Justice Society Of America in an epic slow-motion walk through the battlefield smoke. And this can only mean one thing — Rip Hunter is back. The last time we saw the brown coat was amnesia Rip's — or Phil's — unsuccessful attempt at convincing the Legion that he was actually the Time Master. Thus, its sudden return suggest that Rip has not only reclaimed complete knowledge of who he was, but that he has returned to his heroic ways.

Despite what happens, both the trailer and the episode's synopsis suggest that the Justice Society of America is going to play a crucial role in not only protecting the Spear Of Destiny from the Legion of Doom, but salvaging Rip Hunter's memories. Perhaps they are responsible for bringing him back from the brink of pure evil, or maybe they are just present when the change occurs. But one thing is certain — the JSA is back, and will have no problem saving Rip Hunter and stopping the Legion in order to get justice for their leader and friend Rex Tyler.
