So, Daniel Radcliffe might not have chowed down upon raw bison liver à la Leo in The Revenant, but his quest through the Jungle looks like it'll be just as intense. The actor's latest cinematic jaunt takes him deep into the Bolivian jungle, though what should have been the trip of a lifetime soon turns into a living nightmare thanks to an untrustworthy guide and an upturned raft that flings him into the abyss.
Think less Swiss Army Man prequel, more The Beach meets 127 Hours — in other words, it's a f***ing insane story set in a picturesque location, and if the new trailer is anything to go by, it's going to be one hell of a trip:
Based upon the real-life events of Israeli backpacker Yossi Ghinsberg — which kind of explains Radcliffe's questionable accent; we're gonna have to try and get past that, folks — #Jungle is an adaptation of the novel Jungle: A Harrowing True Story of Survival in the Amazon, and promises to give the fear-itch to any would-be backpackers.
Here's the official synopsis:
Four travelers set off into the heart of the Amazon rain forest, but what begins as a dream adventure quickly deteriorates into an utter nightmare. After a terrible accident, Yossi is forced to survive for weeks alone against one of the most treacherous backdrops on the planet: the Amazon Jungle. Stranded without a knife, map or survival training, he must improvise shelter and forage to survive. After losing all sense of direction, Yossi begins to give up hope, wondering if he will ever make it out of the jungle alive. Based on the real story of best-selling author Yossi Ghinsberg.
#DanielRadcliffe is joined by Alex Russell, Thomas Kretschmann, Yasmin Kassim, Joel Jackson, and Jacek Koman.
Jungle hits theaters October 20, 2017.
Do you think this could be Daniel Radcliffe's chance for an Oscar?
