It seems the Jurassic World beast has sensed movement and is stampeding towards production. Universal Pictures have finally named a director with Safety Not Guaranteed's being given the rather unenviable task of reviving the dinosaur franchise.

It might seem like Jurassic Park 4 has been around for epochs, and you'd kind of be right. first mentioned a fourth Jurassic Park movie back in 2002. Since then it's been on a development rollercoaster. In the last year, however, some serious progress has been made. In 2012 Rise of the Planet of the Apes screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver were brought on board to pen the script, while it was confirmed Steven Spielberg would remain to executive produce. Now, despite the departure of Spielberg's veteran producer partner Katheen Kennedy, Universal are expecting shooting to commence this summer. With this schedule seemingly set in stone, it seems we can expect Jurassic Park to keep to its June 13, 2014 release date

Colin Trevorrow might not be a name you're familiar with, but I think it's fair to say he's one of Hollywood's rising stars. His first feature film Safety Not Guaranteed, which starred , and , was received with rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival. The film won several screenwriting awards, with Trevorrow himself picking up a nomination for Best First Feature at the Independent Spirit Awards. The film certainly has an interesting premise, although it's definitely not about massive lizards rampaging in a built up urban area. Check out the official trailer to get a taste of his work.
