For those of you who thought Jurassic World was extinct, it's time to think again. The much rumored project has finally nailed down a release date, although a director is still nowhere to be seen. The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit has Tweeted that we can expect Jurassic Park 4 to rampage through theaters in 2014. He said:

Deadline has added that the film will be shot in native 3D, and will be based on a script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes). The last we heard about the project came from producer Kathleen Kennedy, who claimed they would only develop a fourth Jurassic Park if they had a script worth making. So, it looks like Jaffa and Silver have done the job. Let's just hope the script has nothing to do with the purely diabolical concept art we saw several months ago.

As Kit explains, has returned to produce the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park series. This marks his return to the franchise after his noticeable absence from Jurassic Park 3. Hopefully, with Spielberg back on board and a decent script, some life can finally be breathed into his lagging project. There is even speculation that Spielberg himself might move in to direct, especially in the wake of Robopocalypse's indefinite delay. At the moment, this is completely unconfirmed.

Does this all seem a bit quick for you? June 2014 isn't really that far away, and we still do not even have a director. I always get slightly suspicious when release dates are announced before a movie has even begun filming. That usually sounds like a great way of ruining a film's creative process. I would much rather the filmmakers were given as much time as necessary to deliver a quality product. I mean, we're talking about Jurassic Park here; that film was basically my childhood. I'm willing to accept one bad Jurassic Park movie, but I'm not sure if I can take another.

What do you guys think? Are you just happy you'll be able to see Jurassic Park 4 so soon, or would you be prepared to wait longer if it meant a more thoroughly developed movie? Let us know below, but make sure to stomp the [[follow]] button to be kept updated with any future Jurassic Park 4 news.
