A new trailer for Ender's Game! And one featuring intergalactic space-children, which can surely only be a good thing? We'll leave behind 's old-fashioned personal opinions and go zooming instead into an shiny, metallic, futuristic future.
Purely in terms of SFX, it looks as though Ender's Game can hold its own against other CGI-heavy space epics like Oblivion and After Earth. The enormous warships and distinguished older gentlemen in Trekky uniforms even had shades of my beloved Battlestar Galactica, which is just about the most promising comparison a sci-fi fan could hope for. FYI, you're gonna have to like sci-fi for this one (though I'm sure there'll be something else showing if you don't - Saw part XIV or whatever should be out by then).
The movie follows Ender () as he defends the Earth from an imminent attack by the deadly Formics (some kind of alien race, possibly made of Formica, who knows). Bigwigs in this warring galaxy include Colonel Graff () and Mazer Rackham (), who, along with Valentine Wiggin () must help Ender in his quest.
Movies these days seem to be pretty good at conveying BIG - cool effects generating lots of epic colossal humungous space explosions. I am all for this, and suggest you watch the trailer below to judge for yourself.
Summit Entertainment will release Ender's Game on November 1st
