With Comic-Con season underway, some of cinema's biggest stars are making their rounds to conventions throughout the country to promote their upcoming projects. Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy, has been a staple at these conventions. With fans eager to know everything brewing within the MCU, most actors have remained tight-lipped about the next installment, Avengers: Infinity War. However, when one fan at Florida SuperCon in late July asked Gillan about Nebula's character arc, she revealed that we will see more of Nebula's past in Avengers: Infinity War.

As reported by Cosplay and Coffee, when Gillan was asked if her character continues along the path of good versus evil, Gillan answered with:

"Without giving away any spoilers, we’re definitely going to continue the arc for Nebula and find out more about her past. And actually, we’re going to find out that it’s even worse than we know. And we’re going to see her confront all of it. It’s going to be like an emotional explosion."

At the same convention panel, Gillan also revealed that there is one Avenger in particular that she gets along with really well, though she's not naming any names. When asked about how her character interacts with the Avengers, Gillan said:

"The funny thing is, they don’t even give us scripts! So we’re just getting our personal scenes and then we shoot them and we don’t even know how they fit into the story. Which is weird, but also kinda cool because then we all get to watch the film and be like, 'Oooh.' She gets along with one superhero that you would never expect. It’s so funny. That’s all I’m saying!"

Gillan recently elaborated more on her new BFF, saying that the pairing is "brilliant and unexpected."

In Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, audiences were able to see Nebula as more than Gamora's troubled adopted sister. Gamora and Nebula seemingly settled their differences, at least long enough for Nebula to fight alongside the Guardians to destroy Ego. The galactic team will appear alongside the Avengers in Infinity War as a combined effort to stop the universe's largest threat to date: Thanos.

Since Thanos is the father of Gamora and Nebula, we can surmise that Nebula's past and "emotional explosion" is tied to her estranged relationship with her father, but little else has been revealed to confirm this theory.

I guess we'll have to wait and see when Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th, 2018.
