Kingsman: The Secret Service was a surprise hit for 20th Century Fox, and audiences everywhere fell in love with ’s brand of hyper-violence and top-notch dialogue. Kingsman also accomplished a near impossible feat, and made Colin Firth a certified action star. Firth’s character, Harry Hart, was one of the best parts of that film, but unfortunately, he met his end after the infamous church scene – in which he murders the standing population of the film’s equivalent of the Westboro Baptist Church.

Harry’s death was the catalyst for Eggsy () to become a certified Kingsman, and served as a very important part of the film. Because Firth's character died in the first film, most assumed he would not be reprising his role in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. But as we have recently found out (and should have known) when it comes to comic book films, no one stays dead for long.

This new poster for Kingsman: The Golden Circle gives us very little information about the plot; however, it does list the stellar cast the have assembled for the film. Taron Egerton and will reprise their roles from Kingsman: The Secret Service, and will be facing off against a new threat named Poppy, played by the lovely .

With the Kingsman in disarray, Eggsy must team up with newcomers and , who are playing members of the Kingsman’s American counterparts, The Statesmen. will be playing the head of the Statesmen, and will no doubt bring the level of commitment he brings to all his roles. This movie also stars… Sir Elton John (yes, that ), in an unknown role. But per Sir Elton’s billing on the poster, it might be a heartier role than we once believed.

Last but not least, Colin Firth is finally confirmed for the film, and it appears he might have a bigger part than we once thought. Due to his death in Kingsman: The Secret Service, we assumed that if Firth did appear in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, it would be in a flashback of some kind. This might have been underestimating his role in the upcoming film, especially since he is the top-billed cast member on the poster.

Is 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' Resurrecting Harry Hart?

For a fan of the franchise, it might be confusing as to how Colin Firth is returning for The Golden Circle. This is understandable, because in most films, dead people stay dead. It wasn’t an open-ended death like Bucky in Captain America: The First Avenger, we actually saw Colin Firth’s character get shot in the face – and most people don’t survive head shots.

The one thing we must remember when talking about Kingsman, is that it is based on a graphic novel by . It is a common occurrence in comic books and graphic novels to bring characters back from the dead. They can explain the resurrection away with a simple line of dialogue, and the story keeps on moving. The Kingsman film franchise also takes place in a fantastical world of super spies and gadgets, so it isn't that much of a stretch to believe that someone could come back from the dead.

As I have mentioned before, Colin Firth has top billing on the new Kingsman: The Golden Circle poster, which is usually reserved for the star of the film. If Firth was making a cameo or appearing as a hologram of some sorts, Fox wouldn't be putting his arm and umbrella gun right on the poster; he is the selling point of their marketing.

It makes perfect sense that will return in the sequel, because he was the life-blood of Kingsman: The Secret Service. It's a fair wager that we will see Harry Hart alive in well in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, even if we don’t understand how they will pull it off yet.

Fans adored the character of Harry Hart, and would love to see him back in action – even if they give a wacky reason for his return. We must wait and see if Colin Firth's Harry Hart will be resurrected when hits theaters on September 29, 2017.
