Moviepilot has been awash with Star Wars speculation for months now. Whether it's about returning cast members or the spin off movies, every Star Wars fan seems to have their own opinion about the future of the franchise. Several of your comments have also referred to the Knights of the Old Republic video games developed by Bioware, and written by Drew Karpyshyn. It also looks like you're not the only guys to have KOTOR on your minds.

Several days ago a rumor emerged stating that a Knights of the Old Republic film was on the cards. Ain't It Cool released the following:

Now for the rumor- Drew Karpyshyn - the man that created the scenario and much of the dialogue in the STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC. He also worked on JADE EMPIRE and STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC. Along with writing MASS EFFECT and MASS EFFECT 2. Well he left BIOWARE back in February of last year to work on "screenwriting" and it seems that BIOWARE is a hot bed of rumor regarding the notion that Drew Karpyshyn is working up a screenplay for a film version of KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC.

Sounds great, right? Well, I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut your celebration short. Karpyshyn quickly headed over to Twitter to explain:

But, hey, don't get too depressed! That doesn't mean a KOTOR movie isn't being considered. A different screenwriter could be being brought in, while Karpyshyn may simply be staying quiet to avoid the wrath of Disney. You don't want those guys on your ass.
