Apparently, Kristen Stewart was "put through the ringer" by US Marines in preparation for her new military movie, Camp X-Ray.
The 23-year-old former Twilight thesp has been toughening up and training with the Armed Forces in preparation for her role as an army guard at Guantanamo Bay. She admitted to E! that she found the whole experience pretty testing:
I spent a few days with a couple of Marines that really put me through the ringer. It was awesome. They're great guys.
She also stated that she had to get into the psyche of the character she was playing.
We wanted to represent them in the best possible way we can and if I was remotely unauthentic, I would die. I would hate that. We did everything we could to keep it real.
Certainly sounds like she's come a long way from playing Bella Swan...
Camp X-Ray tells the story of Amy Cole (Stewart) who gets a job with the army and is hoping to hightail it out of her claustrophobic small town to Iraq. Instead she is send to Guantanamo Bay. While most Muslim men in her charge seem to despise her, Cole forms an unlikely bond with Ali (Peyman Moaadi), who has been imprisoned at Gitmo for eight years.
Does Camp X-Ray sound like sort of flick you're interested in watching KStew in? Or would you rather see her in something more supernatural, a la Twilight? Drop me a line below and let me know your thoughts.
