Last year marked the beginning of a new era of Star Wars movies, with the release of Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. Now, it seems that a new Star Wars movie is set to be released almost every year all the way up to 2020. And while we will see what the aftermath of The Force Awakens, we will not see it until next year with Star Wars Episode VIII. While many have been making theories as to what may happen, there is another theory that goes a little more into the future — more specifically, the finale of the sequel trilogy that is currently underway. That's right, in this case, we are talking about Episode IX. Today we are going to talk about someone who will have to die in this movie.

Someone has always died in the previous trilogies, with almost all of the Jedi being killed in the prequel trilogy, and both the Emperor and Darth Vader dying in the original trilogy. Something that can be told from these deaths is actually rather obvious. These deaths have some sort of emotional meaning. In both cases, the person who was dying meant something to us. Darth Vader had just been reunited with his son, Luke, and the Jedi were these heroes that he had grown to know and love.

But what if Episode IX took that idea and twisted up a little bit? What if the death in the finale was emotional, but we didn't have that draw to the character? These are both possibilities when it comes to the fate of .

Out of all of the characters introduced in The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren is probably the most emotionally complex character. Kylo and Rey are probably the two most theorized characters of the sequel trilogy, so it would be fitting that in the end, one of them was set to die. However, Rey is set to be the new Luke Skywalker character, so that would make Kylo Ren the more likely of the two to die.

Now it comes to the question of how he will die. Many have thought that if he does die, he will go out the same way Darth Vader did — as a hero. However, that may not be the case. In fact, his death will likely be an act of revenge. He will end up being killed by someone he has done a great wrong to. But Kylo Ren has done many wrongs to many people. Who would be the one that kills him?

That's right, the walking carpet we all know and love will get his revenge on Kylo Ren by killing him in Episode IX. And if you are not sure about this, let's just look at the evidence that supports this claim.

The Strength To Do So

Everyone knows that the Wookies are without a doubt one of the most beloved creatures in the Universe. However, Wookies are also one of the strongest creatures as well. What they are capable of was said perfectly by Han Solo in A New Hope:

"That's 'cause droids don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that."

Now, never in the movie trilogies did we see Chewbacca — nor any other Wookie — ever dismember anybody's arms. So it would be a bit of fan service for Chewbacca to do the very first thing we were ever told about Wookies.

Revenge For Han

We all had the sick, twisted feeling going into the theater that Han Solo was going to die in The Force Awakens. And when we finally saw it, we all felt like we got stabbed with a lightsaber as well. With that being said, nothing compares to the emotion that Chewbacca would be feeling in that moment. He just lost his best friend.

Chewbacca has always been by Han Solo's side, no matter what. We saw what Chewbacca will try to do when Han was set to be put into carbonate, so what is to stop him now to completely go "full Wookie" on Kylo Ren? The answer is: absolutely nothing. If it were to be Chewbacca who, in the end, was responsible for the death of Kylo Ren, not only would it give the character some closure, but the fans as well.

Something We Wouldn't See Coming

Even with both how popular and powerful Chewbacca is, he is not one of the main characters of the sequel trilogy. The light will be on Rey, Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker. It would be fitting that one of these four would be the one to have the final strike against Kylo. However, that will not be the case. It will finally be time for Chewbacca to step out of the shadow that he has been in for almost 40 years.

Some of you might be thinking that if Kylo does die, it won't be like this. Instead, he will go out like his grandfather Anakin did. He would have a tragic hero death. Well, sadly, I fear that won't be the case. I have a feeling that Kylo Ren could have the potential to be the greatest villain in all of Star Wars. He was able to kill off the whole dream that Luke Skywalker had created, but he doesn't do it completely from temptation. He lets his anger and rage fuel his drives.

If you are sitting there thinking this is exactly what Darth Vader was, you are absolutely correct. But here's the difference: When it came to his family, Darth Vader let his emotions get the better of him. He was destroyed when it was revealed that Padme was killed. He started to let his guard down after revealing to Luke that he was his father, in attempts to get Luke to join him.

What makes Kylo so different is he takes the family conflict to a whole new level. He has a complete hatred for his family. He has a death wish for everyone from Han, to Leia, to Luke. The only one he didn't have a death wish for is his grandfather, but he only sees him as Darth Vader, and not as Anakin Skywalker. This hatred for his family led him to do the unthinkable: It led him to not only manipulate his father, Han, but it ultimately led to him killing his own father out of complete hatred.

Therefore, Kylo Ren has shown us that he has the potential to become the most evil of all of the Star Wars villains. There is no redemption at this point. Killing Kylo Ren will ultimately save the galaxy from the horrors that they have had to face so far, as well as the horrors they may have to face in these upcoming movies.

In conclusion, we know that the finale of the Star Wars sequel trilogy will have to end in some sort of emotional death. We have already seen it twice with both the prequel and original trilogy. However, it would be much more fitting for the emotional death to give closure not only to the fans, but to one the most overlooked, underrated characters in all of Star Wars. That character happens to be Chewbacca.

No matter how much he is loved, he will always be pushed aside for your Reys and your Obi-Wans and your Luke Skywalkers. So to give such an iconic character the closure he deserves by killing who could possibly be the worst Star Wars villain of all time sounds like a pretty damn good send off.

So what do you think? Do you think Chewbacca will kill Kylo Ren? Will Kylo Ren die at all? Who do you think could kill him? Will any one die in Episode IX? Leave your thoughts down below!
