Lady Gaga was supposed to perform at the Rock in Rio music festival in Brazil on Friday September 17. However, Gaga's Brazilian fan base were left disappointed when she announced that she won't be performing at the event due to serious medical concerns.

According to The Guardian, Lady Gaga suffered an extreme case of physical pain due to her fibromyalgia which demanded treatment. Lady Gaga took to social media on the day before the event to announce that she's not well enough to perform at Rock in Rio and promised that she should would be back soon to perform for her Brazilian fans:

"Brazil, I'm devastated that I'm not well enough to come to Rock In Rio. I would do anything for you, but I have to take care of my body right now. I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon. I'm so sorry, and I love you so much."

This post was soon followed by another post which was a statement from Lady Gaga's team explaining her situation. The statement read:

"Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform. As a result, she sadly must withdraw from this Friday's Rock In Rio performance. Lady Gaga is under the care of expert medical professionals. She sends her love to all her fans in Rio and thanks them for their support and understanding."

Gaga again took to Instagram and revealed that she had been hospitalized after feeling. She uploaded a picture of the tattoo on her neck that read "Rio" to show her love for Rio. She even went on to share how she got that tattoo:

"I was taken to the hospital, it is not simply hip pain or wear and tear from the road, I am in severe pain. But am in good hands with the very best doctors. Please don't forget my love for you. Remember years ago when I tattooed Rio on my neck, the tattoo was written by children in the favelas. Rio, you hold a special place in my heart. I love you."

This, however, isn't the first time that Gaga has had to cancel a performance this month. She cancelled a show in Montreal earlier this month due to health-related issues stemming from her issues with fibromyalgia. Lady Gaga absolutely loves her fans and she doesn't miss an opportunity to bring a smile to their faces by performing live across the world. Cancelling two performances in one month is unlikely of her and she wouldn't do that unless she was indeed in severe pain.

We wish Lady Gaga a speedy recovery and hope that she's able to once again perform on stage soon enough.

Get well soon, Lady Gaga! Leave your message of support for Gaga in the comments section down below.
