Lifelike wax sculptures can be great tributes to historical figures and celebrities when done right. When done wrong, they can make for some pretty frightening creatures worthy of a horror movie. A number of celebrities have been the subjects of these terrifying wax-mishaps (Ryan Gosling, anyone?) throughout the years. Now, we've gotten another example of a sculpture missing the mark big time, courtesy of Lady Gaga.
The fan behind the @ladygaga__JWT Twitter account recently visited the Lima wax museum, and they came across a hilarious surprise: A Lady Gaga wax figure that didn't look anything like the singer. The fan's shock was such, that they took to Twitter to share the picture.
The Lady Gaga Wax Statue Is A Bit ... Well, Terrifying
Looks pretty bad, doesn't it? Well, the situation actually gets funnier. The page shared a second picture of the statue from a different angle under better lighting conditions, and it really shows how different the figure is from the "Poker Face" hitmaker:
Yikes... Yeah, I don't see Lady Gaga at all.
The Internet Had A Lot To Say About This Figure
People around the internet are always looking for things to make fun of, and t like this one are prime targets. Thankfully for anyone looking for a bit of comedy at the expense of #LadyGaga's artificial double, social media didn't disappoint us with its responses:
As some fans pointed out, Lima's wax museum has become infamous for its inaccurate representation of various celebrities and historical figures, such as Nelson Mandela, Freddie Mercury, Shakira and John Lennon.
On a side note, this is curiously not the first time that Lady Gaga has been the subject of a bad wax replica. In fact, it's happened quite a few times, as you can see in these pictures:
Want More Bad Celebrity Wax Figures To Marvel At?
Remember how I said there are quite a few instances of wax celebrity statues missing the mark? I wasn't kidding. Back in 2009, to promote Hanna Montana: The Movie, a wax version of #MileyCyrus was unveiled, but to fans' dismay, the figure had nothing in common with its real-life counterpart:
That's going to haunt me at night, I'm sure of it.
#Beyonce has been the subject of wax figure controversies in the past, but perhaps one of her most notorious cases was this statue, created by the Louis Tussaud's Waxworks in Niagara Falls:
#JustinTimberlake was honored with a wax replica by Madame Tussauds, but unfortunately for the actor/singer, the results weren't the best, as his figure came out more like a mix between Channing Tatum and Ryan Gosling. Admittedly, that doesn't sound like a bad combination, but it doesn't make for an accurate representation of Timberlake:
Madame Tussaud also created a #LeonardoDiCaprio wax replica. While the figure is a bit more faithful to its real-life counterpart when compared to the Justin Timberlake recreation above, the resemblance is still barely there:
Thankfully, each of these celebrities have gotten updated versions as the years have passed. I don't know about you, but after seeing these pictures, I can't wait to see which other inaccurate wax figure we get in the future.
What did you think of Lady Gaga's controversial wax figure? Is there a wax model from any celebrity that you particularly dislike? Let me know in the comments!
