While Batman v Superman languishes in love it or hate it hell, and the ghost of Joel Schumacher's bat nipples still haunts us, could the perfect Batman film be just on the plastic-bricked horizon? With its all-star cast of Will Arnett, Michael Cera, and Ralph Fiennes, it looks like The Lego Batman Movie will be built high with talent when we open the box and throw away the instructions next year.
The latest poster for plastic fantastic adventure promises an Avengers-style team up of heroes and villains from #DC. Among the glitterati of Bat-friends and foes are the usual suspects: Alfred, Catwoman, Superman, and Robin. While appearances from Martian Manhunter, Hawkman, and The Flash promise that Chris McKay's film won't just be focussed on the Caped Crusader. The likes of Bane, Joker, Mr. Freeze, and Penguin were always going to be there, however, with one of the richest rogue's gallery in the comicverse, let's look at some of the bad guys you might not have spotted lurking in the background of the bombarding bricked poster.

- You Should Be Bricking It: LEGO Batman Set Brings Back Insane Villains
- Every Reference To Other Batman Films In The Brand New 'Lego Batman Movie' Trailer
"Hey doc, nice hat." Dr. Jonathan Crane came into mainstream Batlore thanks to Cillian Murphy's portrayal in Christopher Nolan's films and Rocksteady's Arkham games, while it looks like he will be turning up again in his more traditional Scarecrow costume.
2. Mutant Leader
Frank Miller's acclaimed The Dark Knight Returns pitched an aging Bruce against a whole host of new and existing characters. One of the villains to come out of the graphic novel was the muscly mutant leader and his signature red visor. No, that isn't Cyclops crossing from Marvel to DC — it is great to see that #LEGO are taking from all iterations of #Batman's history.
3. Killer Croc
He may be hard to spot due to the menagerie of penguins on his back, but Waylan Jones is there in the action too. The hulking monster takes an animal LEGO form, looking that those little green crocodiles we all used to have.
The best news to come out of #TheLegoBatmanMovie recently (apart from its existence) was that Billy Dee Williams will finally be able to play Two-Face. The 79-year-old portrayed District Attorney Harvey Dent in Tim Burton's Batman in 1989, but didn't get the chance to play his manic alter ego for 1995's Batman Forever (that went to Tommy Lee Jones). A part that has been 27 years in the making, Dee Williams eventually gets to voice the villain next year.
Finally, lurking way up high, could that be Dr. Kirk Langstrom, the doomed scientist who takes being Batman in reverse? As his own experiment gone horribly wrong, Langstrom is the man/vampire bat hybrid. Langstrom is a particularly dark part of the Dark Knight, unable to control his animal instincts, so how much we will see him in LEGO's bright story remains to be seen.
Take it in, take it all in! It certainly looks like February 10, 2017 is one to mark on the calendars. We are already on planning on collecting the full LEGO set when January heralds the release of the Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures Series, including villains like March Harriet and the Eraser. Sadly most of the characters will probably just pop up in the background, or maybe a signature LEGO singalong number, but spotting them all will be one hell of an Easter egg hunt. Which of your favorites can you spot?
