's girlfriend and Glee co-star sent out her first tweet about Cory’s passing on Monday morning.
The tweet was her first since July 13, when Moneith passed away. It read as follows:
‘Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart.’
She attached a picture of the two of them to the tweet, which is below:
Monteith died from a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol while in Canada.
This is the first statement to come from Lea herself - while she has touched base with fans in the past weeks, it's been exclusively through statements issued by her PR. Two weeks ago US Weekly printed the following statement from Lea's reps:
'Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.'
Our thoughts and prayers are with Lea as she goes through this difficult time.
