Warning: This article contains spoilers from American Horror Story: Roanoke.

American Horror Story created a brand new terrifying world with Roanoke after baffling us with several teasers to hide the seasons theme. We're well into the story of Roanoke now but things are really heating up with the fictional reality series Return to Roanoke: Three Days In Hell which has so far seen the participants of My Roanoke Nightmare return to the house for a three day stay during the Blood Moon cycle. However, it wasn't long before we learned that things don't end well — only one of them will make it out alive.

The latest episode of the show took us right up to the end of the second day, meaning that there is only one day of the nightmare left. However, we've seen many deaths already and there is no doubt more on the way so who will be the last participant left standing after it's all over? Although she may currently be tied up at the Polk's farm, Lee is the most likely candidate to make it out of the Roanoke alive. Some of her limbs may not be attached after we saw the Polks munching on some of her meat, but there is a large chance that she will be the one to make it out of this nightmare alive.

Why? From a narrative point of view, Lee has the most interesting story — she is still under scrutiny for her ex-husband's alleged murder and she only agreed to do Return to Roanoke in an attempt to clear her name. If she emerges alive, it will lead into many possible storylines for the show and for her. Also, from a character point of view, Lee is the hardest character at the farmhouse — she has what it takes to survive.

Lee Has Been Here Before

With the exception of Shelby, almost all of the other alive participants are re-enactors from Roanoke Nightmare meaning that Lee is one of the only ones who have lived through this horror before. Because of this, she knows the best possible ways to get out of the place and is fully able to fend for herself — remember according to the re-enactment it was Lee who rescued Matt and Shelby the first time around and we could see her try and do the same thing again.

As we saw in the latest episode, Lee is currently being held captive at the Polk farm. However, the preview for next week's episode shows Audrey — who is also a prisoner at the Polk farm — free from her captivity so maybe Lee gets out too? Lee has police experience so she has probably dealt with many psychopaths like the Polk's before.

She Can Prove Her Innocence...

Again, Lee's storyline is incredibly interesting because her current experience in the Roanoke house could go either way for her if she makes it alive. Ever since the Millers' story was broadcast to America on My Roanoke Nightmare, Lee has apparently received death threats and been under investigation for the murder of her ex-husband Mason. We never found out what happened, but the documentary showed Lee leaving the house late at night and then the Millers' were called by the police who had found Mason's body completely burned.

Whether or not we will find out what happened to Mason remains to be seen, but if Lee can escape the Roanoke house alive then she can prove her innocence with the camera footage that has been filming the three hellacious days. As a former police officer, I'm sure that she is aware that this evidence could prove her innocence as well as confirming the existence of the Roanoke colony. However, as joyous and happy as that conclusion would be, this is American Horror Story we're talking about and there is another possibility altogether.

...Or She Will Be Convicted Of Murder

If Lee manages to escape with her life intact then she'll have to tell the police what happened. In doing so, she'll have to mention how all of the other participants — as well as Sidney and the production crew — are all dead. Considering she is currently under investigation for Mason's murder, then perhaps things will go in a completely different direction and she will get arrested for the murder of everyone at the house While there is no hardcore evidence of her being responsible, the public scrutiny may become much worse if she's now accused of murdering several innocent people.

However, the footage is apparently found at some point so we're assuming that this would be able to prove Lee's innocence. Either way, the fact that she is already thought to be dangerous doesn't bode well for her especially if she escapes a house full of murdered corpses.

Check out a preview for next week's episode "Chapter 8":

There are only three episodes of Roanoke left and with only one person slated to make it out alive, who knows what will happen next? I'm sure arguments can be made for each character's survival but Lee has both the most to gain and the most to lose if she manages to escape the terror of Roanoke forever. With the dual chance to prove her innocence or get accused of murder, Lee's storyline post-Roanoke definitely feels like something that viewers would want to see. Come on Lee, hang on just one more day!
