Hello everyone and welcome to my third and final list for the and its shows (well, at least for now anyway). This is list concerns who the Legends should take on for their third season. And with the Legends Season 2 finale right around the corner, what better time than now to start stewing over who the Big Bad of Season 3 should be?

Now, I have to say, I have had to do a lot of thinking and research for this one. The Legends, unlike counterparts and , don't have any comic material to use as inspiration. And seeing as the Legends consists of secondary characters, most of whom don't have (or never have had) their own comic series, its been a challenge coming up with a convincing list.

But the good news is, I think I have come up with some excellent ideas that can and will make up for our lack of source material. So without further ado, let's jump straight into it, shall we?

1. Starro

My first pick for this list is none other than the first foe of the Justice League of America, Starro. This may seem a little controversial at first considering the character's history with the Justice League, but seeing as he has fallen behind more popular villains such as Darkseid, Brainiac and Lex Luthor (among others), Starro has become a minor villain for DC's major heroes. Why not reinvent the character by making him the Big Bad of Season 3?

Let me explain a little bit more. The first two seasons of Legends has concentrated heavily on time travel, with the second season showing the Legends chasing down time aberrations and fixing them in their own unique way. While Starro is not a time-traveling villain, why can't he be a large time aberration? What if this time aberration is set in the future and the Legends can spend the majority of the season in the future? Starro could be a time aberration that the Legends need the whole season to fix. It's a nice change from the Legends constantly changing time periods, I think.

In the future, Starro has taken over the world, or has begun his conquest of the world. The Legends, having never met Starro, travel to the future thinking its a Vandal Savage-like conquest, only to discover a giant alien starfish. After getting walloped by Starro and his army of starfish-enslaved humans, the Legends could go about the season trying to discover who or what Starro is and trying to find a weakness so they can defeat him.

Possibly the biggest problem using Starro would be the amount of CGI used to create the character. He would have the same problem as on The Flash, and with an already bursting budget thanks to the different powers of the Legends, Starro becomes an unlikely choice. I do like the idea of using the character, especially seeing as he is unlikely to be used in the . But if Starro isn't sounding good, then...

2. The Secret Society Of Supervillains

For anyone who read my Arrow list, you will know that I nominated the Society as an option to take on the Green Arrow, but I had it pointed out to me that the Society would work better opposed to the Legends.

One of the main issues with using the Society for Season 3 of Legends would be finding a team that could match or even possibly be more threatening than the Legion of Doom for Season 2. I think it would be best for the Society to consist of villains already seen in the Arrowverse. Names that I'm throwing around in my head include Deadshot, Clock King, Solomon Grundy, maybe Killer Frost (that depends on the character's development on The Flash, obviously) or possibly even a return for Ra's al Ghul or Deathstroke from Arrow.

I'm not sure that the Society will be used as the Big Bads for Season 3 of Legends because of how similar they are to the Legion of Doom, or how similar they would have to be. Not so much in terms of motivation, but it could feel too much like the evil speedsters on The Flash. While I don't have a problem with another team of villains being used to combat the Legends, I think I may have a better idea for you.

3. The Crime Syndicate

When I say Crime Syndicate, I don't mean these guys in the picture above (it's the only picture of the Crime Syndicate I could find). I was thinking an evil version of the Legends, similar to the ones we saw in Rip's mind when Sara and Jax went in to try and restore Rip's memory after the Legion turned him against the Legends. If the Syndicate were to be the villains of Season 3, they too could be a time aberration that takes all season to defeat

The story could go that the Syndicate traveled from their own Earth (the Arrowverse version could be from Earth-4) because they killed all the heroes on their own Earth and want to take on their opposites. It would make for an interesting season having the Legends face off against one another and exploring their inner demons, with their evil versions taunting them and exposing their potential for evil.

My other idea for the Crime Syndicate would be to have an evil version of the Justice Society of America.

I really like this idea because of how little we have seen of the JSA this season. Yeah, Stargirl, Dr. Midnite and Commander Steel all show up again throughout the season, as does Obsidian. However, Patrick. J. Adams's Hourman appears for just the one episode, and while he wasn't exactly a standout character, he was killed before we ever really got the chance to see him at his best.

An evil JSA would have a huge impact on all of the team (or at least those that remain), especially Amaya and Nate (should both of them hang around). Amaya would be fighting against her old colleagues, and while they might not actually be her JSA, she would see them as such and face her own emotions as she fights against Rex Tyler, the man who wanted to quit the JSA with her and live a normal life.

As for Nate, he would be going up against an evil version of his grandfather, a man he looks up to and who inspired his own costume design. Rip would also struggle against an evil version of the JSA, especially seeing as he worked with them in separating the Spear of Destiny.

This version of the Syndicate could have the same motivations as my earlier version, wanting to defeat the heroes of another Earth after destroying their own.

4. Gorilla Grodd

Yes, I have included another CGI-heavy character, and I know using Grodd would have the same problems as Starro, but I honestly think that Grodd could work as a Big Bad for the Legends, assuming that he doesn't get the role on The Flash.

The plot for Grodd could be set in a future where Grodd leads his army of gorillas back onto Earth-1, successfuly conquering Central City and Star City, killing all of the heroes defended their home. While Grodd's motivations would be similar to Vandal Savage in Season 1, I think Grodd would come across as more threatening than Savage because of how hard he is to kill, as well as his excellent strategic mind. I think that Grodd could be an improved version on Savage and would come across as a better villain in general, also helped along by the fact that we have seen Grodd before on The Flash and have a better understanding of the character than we did with Savage.

Will Grodd be used? Probably not. The character so far has primarily been used as a villain of The Flash and I can't see that changing as of yet, but that doesn't mean he won't appear on Legends. I think that if he does show up, it will be similar to the "Star City 2046" episode, where the Legends accidentally travel to an alternative future in which Grodd has taken over the world. That way, the show won't blow its budget by having a recurring army of talking gorillas in every episode as well as the Legends themselves.

5. Mr. Mxyzptlk

This one would be a real surprise, but after I gave it some thought I actually quite like the idea of Mr. Mxyzptlk taking over the role of Big Bad for Season 3 of Legends.

I know Mxyzptlk is a villain, but let's be honest here — the chances of Mxyzptlk appearing in a Superman movie is very unlikely at this stage. The next Man Of Steel movie is most likely to feature either Brainiac or Lex Luthor as the Big Bad, and the chances of seeing a character like Mxyzptlk appear in the DCEU is really quite low.

Now, for those of you who don't know, Mxyzptlk is an imp from the fifth dimension and his whole motivation is to have fun. That's what could really make the character stand out compared to other Big Bads across the entire Arrowverse. This character is not a villain out for vengeance or world destruction, he just wants to have a good time. The whole season could be based around him leading the Legends on a merry chase through different time zones, constantly teasing them until they finally figure out how to send him back to where he came from (you have to make him say his name backwards).

While Mxyzptlk's whole motivation centers around amusement, he has a very dark idea of what amusement is and the season could possibly even start with Mxyzptlk challenging the Legends to a game, a game they refuse, and so he kills one of them and offers to bring said dead Legend back to life if they can defeat him. It would establish Mxyzptlk as dangerous despite his goofy appearance, and the stakes would be high because a character we already know and love has been killed.

I think it would be a cool change of pace for the show and introduce a very different villain from previous enemies. And besides, who doesn't want to hear the Legends try and say Mxyzptlk?

6. The Legion Of Doom

Wait, the Legion are the villains of this season — is he on drugs or something? No, I am not on drugs and yes, I do know the Legion are this season's Big Bads.

We know from the most recent episode of Legends that the Legion successfully rewrite reality and that world will be explored in the next episode, "Doomworld," While we are unlikely to spend much time in that alternative reality, that doesn't necessarily mean the destruction of the Legion altogether. I personally am hoping that , and will all be alive and able to appear in future episodes of the Arrowverse. Why not make it that the Legends challenge the Legion to a second round? What if the Big Bads of this season actually win (for the most part) and Season 3 focuses on around the Legends trying to fix their mistakes and exact revenge?

With the Rogues likely to be the Big Bads of The Flash, Captain Cold will most likely have left the Legion to terrorize Central City, Malcom Merlyn may look to another villain from the Arrowverse Rogues Gallery to take Cold's place. Could be that villain? We know the character died, but could he make a return the same way Darhk and Cold did? Or, could another replace Captain Cold?

Do I think the Legion will carry on as the Big Bads for Season 3? No, not really, but I would be open to them doing so, especially if that means seeing more of Thawne and Darhk. They have been fantastic additions to the show and I would be more than happy to see them go around once more.

Alright, so that's my list. What do you think? Who should the Legends of Tomorrow take on in their third season? Are my options really good or really bad and if I'm wrong please enlighten me as to who should be the Big Bad — I promise I'm open-minded!
