When the first #LEGO movie came out in 2014, it was already planned there'd be a trilogy — with a hint to a mysterious band of ninjas released along with the Blu-ray edition of The LEGO Movie. But the first sequel we got wasn't all swords and samurais. Instead, the hilariously grumpy Batman already introduced in the first movie took over and got his own film, which is getting rave reviews ahead of its release on February 10.
While moviegoers are getting ready for pants-less Robin and more LEGO-bricks-Batmobile action, Warner Bros. released the first trailer for The LEGO Ninjago Movie, with a story that seems to be taking as many clues from Star Wars as Kill Bill: Lloyd (pronounce that as you will) is a Green Ninja who aims to defeat Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever. And on top of being the worst, Garmadon just had to be Lloyd's dad.

Didn't think you'd ever see samurai fights to a Taylor Swift soundtrack? It looks like in the LEGO world, anything is possible and everything is awesome — sorry for the earworm.
Inspired by the LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu toy line, which already got its own animated adaptation on Cartoon Network, The LEGO Ninjago Movie will feature dragons made of LEGO bricks and some serious samurai training (and maybe some jokes aimed at Marvel's Doctor Strange?). But while they're fighting the world's supervillains at night, during the day, its ninja heroes have another challenge to handle: high school.
