The long list of famous names that have passed away in 2016 continues to grow, with Alan Thicke being the latest to cross over to the other side on December 13. The 69-year-old TV actor suffered a sudden heart attack while out playing hockey with his son, Carter Thicke.
As news of his death broke, celebrities from all over Hollywood took to social media to pay their respects to the actor and now, #LeonardoDiCaprio has joined the throngs of A-listers sharing tributes.
While Thicke's sons remembered their real-life dad, his youngest TV son also posted his thoughts online. Leo and Alan starred in Growing Pains together when Leo was just a teen trying to make it big in the industry — relive their performances in the show below:
Taking to Facebook, the Oscar-winner posted this heartfelt tribute to his on-screen dad, praising the actor for his "huge heart" and positive influence:
"Alan was a devoted father, husband, friend and role model. He knew how to harness the power of the entertainment industry to be a positive influence in so many lives – including mine. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I had to work with Alan early in my career. He had tremendous class, a huge heart, and he taught me and so many others the valuable lessons about humility and gratitude."

Leo also made sure to emphasize that his relationship with #AlanThicke didn't end in the '80s, saying:
"I’ve seen him a number of times over the years and when Alan Thicke walked in the room, quite frankly, no one was cooler."
