The luck of the Irish is being packed up, shipped and rebooted, as WWE Studios has begun work on Leprechaun: Origins. Studio President Michael Luisi spoke to CraveOnline recently to talk all things Leprechaun, revealing:

The tone is going to be a little darker, a little more traditional horror than the Warwick Davis ones that people remember, trying to find a way to please fans of that genre but at the same time this is really being played for scares.

If it wasn't bad enough that WWE Studios is producing the project (their movie The Chaperone made my eyes bleed), they've also brought their own 'talent' on board, in the form of wrestler Dylan "Hornswoggle" Postl, who's attached to play the demonic creature.

What chance of the original Leprechaun making an appearance? Luisi revealed:

I think that’s still an open question. Maybe a cameo. I don’t know at this point. The script is still in development.

To be honest, my hopes for this movie are lower than a blow delivered by a crooked wrestling referee.

Leprechaun: Origins is still in the writing stage at the moment, so [[follow]] the movie if you want to get all the demonic updates when they hit.
