There has been a lot of anticipation for the upcoming seventh season of #AmericanHorrorStory. The anthology series received mixed reviews for its sixth season, Roanoke, which deviated from the usual brand of horror that fans had come to expect. Season 7 is set to focus on the presidential election with mainstay cast members Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters returning in key roles.
After revealing the horrifying concept art for the elephant monster that will likely feature in Season 7, series creator Ryan Murphy took to Instagram today to announce another actor who is joining #AHS for the seventh season — it's Leslie Grossman!
Grossman is an American Horror Story newcomer, having never appeared on the anthology series before. You may be wondering where exactly you've seen Grossman in action — and, don't worry, you're not the only one. The actress has appeared in some of the biggest shows on #TV over the years, with appearances in Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Melissa and Joey, Charmed, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, 2 Broke Girls, Modern Family, The New Normal and Dexter.
If that didn't jog your memory, then fear not — she has also played key roles in some of the greatest short-lived series of days gone by. Let's take a look at some of her biggest roles to date:
Grossman is no doubt known for her role on the WB series Popular on which she played Mary Cherry. The short-lived series was also created by AHS' Ryan Murphy and has become a bit of a cult classic since its cancellation.
What I Like About You (2002-2006)
Grossman played Lauren in What I Like About You, another classic WB series that ran for four years. The series focused on two sisters who lived in New York City. Originally, Grossman's Lauren was a recurring character but was made a series regular from the second season onwards
Nip/Tuck was really the beginning of Ryan Murphy's global success as a TV showrunner. The hit plastic surgery drama was hard-hitting, and Grossman featured in a handful of episodes back in 2008.
10 Things I Hate About You (2009-2010)
Grossman played Darlene Tharpe in 10 Things I Hate About You. This ABC Family drama was based on the popular movie of the same name — but unfortunately the show didn't win over many viewers and, as a result, was cancelled in 2010.
If you think the elephant man is messed up, check out these crazy moments from previous seasons of American Horror Story:
Grossman joins Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Billy Eichner and Billie Lourd in the politically themed seventh season of American Horror Story, which will debut on FX in the fall. With a creepy elephant monster and a presidential election, this could indeed be the scariest American Horror Story of them all.
