Though the majority of us will never get to experience such a thrill, when we picture getting a major, life-changing movie role, generally it comes with a certain amount of pomp and circumstance.

But in this modern, technology-driven day and age, sometimes we move right past the fanfare and onto the congratulations and celebrations. This happened to be the case when Marvel's new Tom Holland found out he won the part of .

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Holland revealed he learned of this major Marvel casting as any good millennial would — via Instagram.

"I was in my bed scrolling through Instagram. It had been about a month since my audition. And Marvel just posted a photo saying go to our website and find out who the next Spider-Man is. I went on the Marvel website on my computer and there it was: The new Spider-Man is Tom Holland. I went ballistic, like absolutely nuts."

Going "absolutely nuts" even sounds like an understatement, given the opportunity presented to him. I wouldn't have blamed Holland for doing a couple of backflips off a wall (which we all know he can do). Below is the image that tipped Holland off to the news:

The Instagram post led Holland to the Marvel website where the official announcement listed his name as the new face of the iconic character:

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are proud to announce that after a full worldwide casting search, Tom Holland will play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the next Spider-Man film, in theaters in IMAX and 3D on July 28, 2017.

The press release also included praise directly from Sony producer Amy Pascal, who talked about Holland's ability to wow both and teams:

“Sony, Marvel, Kevin [Feige] and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented, young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world. With Tom [Holland], we’ve found the perfect actor to bring Spider-man’s story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

A perfect actor indeed! Holland first dazzled fans by making his hilarious debut appearance in this past year. His Peter Parker will head back to high school next year with Spider-Man: Homecoming. There's no doubt in my mind he'll be the best Spidey yet.

Thankfully, according to Holland, he'll stay on as the young wall-crawler for many years to come:

"I do know I have three Spider-Man movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They're very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other."

Jon Watts's Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into theaters on July 7, 2017.
