The Fourth of July is a day for celebrating America, but after the most divisive election in modern U.S. history, many Americans struggled to feel in a celebratory mood. Only 37 percent of Americans approve of President Donald Trump, according to Gallup.

One of those 37 percent: Mean Girls and Herbie: Fully Loaded star Lindsay Lohan.

On Monday, Twitter user @LeahR77 posted a tweet that blasted "ALL YOU CRYBABIES At @CNN Whining About Trump." The tweet received a surprise reply — from Lindsay Lohan, tweeting in defense of POTUS. She told her followers, "THIS is our president," and that people need to "stop bullying him & start trusting him." Check out the full tweet below:

In addition to defending the president, Lohan tweeted in defense of the Trump family, calling them all "kind people":

Ironically, even though Lohan asked "why speak poorly of anyone?", Trump himself had a lot to say about the actress back in 2004. During an interview with Howard Stern, Trump said:

"She's probably deeply troubled and therefore great in bed. How come the deeply troubled women, you know, deeply, deeply troubled, they're always the best in bed?"

Lohan recently responded to Trump's old statements, saying:

"I wish him the best. We live in a world of societies that consistently find fault in people. I think it's a really scary factor. Taking someone else down is never the answer, and I think we all know that."

Trump may have many critics, but it seems Lindsay Lohan isn't one of them. The Mean Girls actress has made her opinion on the president known, and it appears that his previous claims about the actress hasn't put her off.

What do you make of Lohan's commments? Tell us in the comment section below.
