Rumors suggest that Logan may be Wolverine's last stand — and no, we're not talking about the lackluster third X-Men film. After all, Hugh Jackman has reiterated time and time again that he's hanging up the claws for good, and we already know that Wolverine's healing factor ain't what it used to be.
However, this doesn't mean that the entire cast of Logan will perish by the end of the film. Audiences can only handle so many nihilistic blockbusters that kill every main character by the film's end, so there's a strong chance that at least some of the actors who appear in #Logan may return for another stab at the X-Men franchise.
Will Donald Pierce Return To The X-Men Franchise After 'Logan'?
During an exclusive interview with Movie Pilot, we asked #BoydHolbrook whether his villainous character, Donald Pierce, could ever return in another #XMen related film like #Deadpool2. Sure, the timelines don't match, but we already know that the time-travelling Cable has been confirmed to appear in the highly anticipated sequel, so anything's possible:
“I think Deadpool 2 is up shooting in Vancouver and we’re doing Predator there... I haven’t got a call for Deadpool."
While this may be disappointing news for Deadpool fans, does this mean that Donald Pierce and his freaky metal arm could just appear somewhere else instead?
"No, not unless someone knows something that I don’t know about. I think [Logan's] a very stand alone, character-driven piece. This movie is far different from any of these Marvel Avengers films. I think it’ll shatter and shake up that demographic.”
Does This Mean That Donald Pierce Will Die By The End Of 'Logan'?
News that Logan will stand alone as a unique entry into the #superhero movie genre is certainly welcome, but what does Holbrook's response mean for the fate of Donald Pierce?
On the one hand, the fact that Logan's villain won't appear anymore suggests that Pierce could die at the hands of Wolverine or even X-23, his murderous yet loveable sidekick. However, Holbrook's words suggest that the reason Pierce won't return has more to do with how Logan has been designed to stand apart as separate from the rest of the franchise.

In other words, the fate of Pierce and the rest of his Reavers will remain unclear until Logan slashes its way into cinemas on March 2. From everything we've seen so far though, Holbrook brings a dark humor to the role which we hope to see again one day somewhere else in the X-Men franchise. In the meantime, Holbrook fans shouldn't despair too much though as there's a chance that Boyd may reprise another one of his most memorable roles in Season 3 and 4 of #Narcos instead.
