Warning: Contains Thor: The Dark World spoilers
As the credits rolled on Thor: The Dark World the audience was left with a few unanswered questions: What will Jane and Thor call their future kids? What is Lady Sif's phone number and when will we see Loki again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Although the answers to the first two questions remain a mystery (Ms Sif, if you are reading this, call me. I have many leather-bound books) Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has admitted that for Loki they "know where we'd like to go, if given the opportunity," while Thor 2 helmer hinted that any ambiguity surrounding the God of Mischief will hopefully be "answered in Thor 3 at some point."
We know that Loki won't be appearing in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron so our theory here at Moviepilot HQ is that we'll next see the character in Thor 3 and he might be used to introduce Thanos, who'll be eager to get his hands on the Infinity Stone that's in Loki's possession. Considering that Loki now sits on the throne of Asgard and is prone to the odd power trip, this could lead to a showdown with the Mad Titan that paves the way for all sorts of crazy action in The Avengers 3.
Like I said, it's only a theory, but we'll get more of an idea about Marvel's Phase Three endgame once Phase Two rounds out with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Let me know what you think about Loki's prospects in the comment section below.
