If you haven't had the privilege of seeing one of Hitchcock's most lauded films, Rear Window then you really really must. Not only is it a masterclass in tension, but to this very day, it continues to be dissected by photography and film students alike.
The image below is an interpretation of the apartment block which the lead character L.B. Jefferies () obsesses over after breaking his leg. A professional photographer with an inquisitive eye, he is confined to his Greenwich Village apartment- wheelchair bound- whilst in recovery. His rear window looks out onto a small courtyard and several other apartments, where during a stifling summer, he passes the time by observing his neighbors, which escalates into a very morbid kind of curiosity aided by a huge source of tension.
