To avoid fainting, keep repeating 'It's only a movie...It's only a movie...'

Not gonna lie, The Rover is gonna be one dark movie. That's what makes it so great.

The trailer - starring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson as desperate criminal hunters - is nerve-shredding. Let's take a closer look.

Guy Pearce plays Eric, a man determined to recover what a gang stole from him.

His quest takes him - and Rey (Robert Pattinson) into the unforgiving wilderness.

Producer Liz Watts noted, 'The South Australian desert environment can be a tough one to work in'.

The mood is relentlessly dark, the palette washed out and gray.

Pattinson said in 2012 that The Rover is 'about how much pain can the world take and how much disgust and cruelty before love dies.'

However, the lurking menace does have its explosive moments of action.

I hate to think what's being burnt here...

Would YOU challenge a pissed off Guy Pearce to an impromptu drag race?

More irresponsible driving. Seatbelts save lives, people!

Rob gets sucked into the seedy criminal underworld...

...and the bodies start piling up.

Soon, everyone is trying to shoot everyone.

Guy gets sultry; nice reference to Memento here?

The Rover will be Rob's hardest, most complex role yet.

NEVER mess with a bearded Guy Pearce.

The Rover is going to blow us away.
