Dame Maggie Smith, Countess of Downton and and undisputed Queen of the pithy putdown, didn't even need to grace the 2016 Emmys with her presence to get her sass on. When Smith was awarded an Emmy for "Best Supporting Actress In A Drama Series," host Jimmy Kimmel made a cheeky joke in her absence, quipping that her award would be waiting for her in the Lost and Found.

Never one to miss a witty retort, everyone's favorite Grand Dame of theater and screen posted the following charming message via Masterpiece PBS's Twitter:

I was very astonished and pleased to win the award. I feel the Emmys have been overly gracious to me. If Mr. Kimmel could please direct me to the lost and found office I will try and be on the next flight, Love, Old Maggie.

Maggie Smith, We Salute You!

Let's have a bit more of that Maggie Smith sass, shall we? Remember this little gem from Downton Abbey?
