Major spoilers ahead for Sunday night's Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead. You know the drill.

By now, pretty much everybody in the world who watches The Walking Dead knows what went down in the Season 7 premiere, one of the bloodiest episodes in the show's history, and quite possibly the most controversial. Some have claimed it the best-ever episode, others weren't quite so sure, and certain critics were seriously savage. Only one thing's for certain: Glenn and Abraham are dead.

It could have turned out very differently, though, as this leaked clip demonstrates. In it, a Lucille-wielding Negan rounds on Maggie. Even in low quality, it's every bit as horrific as you'd expect. Check it out:

I won't lie — sad as Glenn's death was, a shock Maggie cull would have brought far greater emotional impact. That said, hasn't she already been through enough? The alternative victim scene was seemingly shot to keep the secret of the real victims' identities safe until the episode had aired.

Check out the trailer for Season 7 Episode 2, 'The Kingdom.'

Did the right victims meet their end in The Walking Dead's Season 7 opener, or should Maggie's date with Lucille have made it to screen?
