Now, of all the slightly unusual yet entirely plausible-seeming fan theories that have sprung up around Disney movies over the past few years (and there have been a lot of them) there are few that caught the attention of the world more effectively than a certain #Frozen and #Tangled-related theory from a few years back.
Which, since it essentially posited the idea that the cameo appearance from Tangled's Rapunzel and Eugene in Frozen wasn't a simple inside joke, but was instead a subtle hint that Elsa and Anna's parents had died en route to visit Tangled's kingdom of Corona, isn't all that surprising. After all, who doesn't love a good morbid #Disney #fantheory — even one that was thoroughly debunked a few years back? Well, as it turns out:
Mandy Moore Really Isn't A Fan Of That 'Frozen'/'Tangled' Fan Theory
Indeed, if #MandyMoore's recent interview with TVLine is anything to go by, she's the absolute last person you should share any of your secret theories about creepy Disney-themed crossovers with. Y'see, while discussing the new Tangled animated spin-off, #TangledTheSeries, Moore was asked about the Tangled/Frozen fan theory, and, well, the video below pretty much speaks for itself:
Her exact words? "That's a pretty morbid fan theory."
Which, in fairness, is entirely true. But then again, a surprisingly large number of beloved fan theories are beloved precisely because of their horrifyingly morbid nature, making Moore's objection to the theory on those grounds a touch redundant. Her follow-up point — that it isn't actually true — however? Well, as mentioned above, that one's standing on some rather more solid ground.
Either way, though, don't expect Tangled: The Series to feature a whole bunch of Disney crossover funerals in the near future. That, apparently, is not what the Disney Channel is for, no matter how hard we try to argue otherwise.
What do you think, though? Do you still stand by the Tangled/Frozen theory, no matter what? Let us know below!
