Whatever Sigourney Weaver's mystery villain has planned for #TheDefenders, she'd better make sure it's smart, because Misty Knight — the detective who made life tough for Luke Cage last month on Netflix — is joining Marvel's band of superheroes in the team-up series, and nothing gets past Harlem's most dogged cop.
Marvel confirmed the news today with a short but tantalizing Twitter announcement teasing the appearance of both Knight (Simone Missick) and Matt Murdock's friend, the equally determined Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) in The Defenders.

It's a double whammy for Woll, who will also star in the Punisher solo series that is currently being filmed. Crucially, it also promises that all the strands of the four Defenders' lives will intertwine in what's bound to be seriously epic fashion when New York's greatest protectors finally come together. Previously confirmed is Malcolm (Eka Darville), the neighbor who unwittingly fell into Jessica Jones's Kilgravian nightmare.
Who else could show up in The Defenders? Daredevil's business partner Foggy and Jones's best friend Trish seem like a solid bet, while lawyer Jeri Hogarth could also be in the mix, but the one person who connects each of the reluctant superheroes is Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), our Night Nurse. She'll appear next in Iron Fist (coming to Netflix March 17, 2017). Check out the short Defenders teaser trailer below.
