But what's been even more exciting has been how the couple's celebrity friends have all reacted to their happy news — and none more so than #MattDamon who nearly cried when George told him he was going to be a father!

Matt Damon Almost Cried On Set When Clooney Told Him He Was Going To Be A Father:
While on the set of the #GeorgeClooney's upcoming movie Suburbicon featuring Matt Damon, Oscar Isaac and Josh Brolin, Clooney pulled Matt aside to tell him that Amal was pregnant with twins — even though the news was still very fresh. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Matt stated that initially he got very emotional:
“I was working with him last fall and he pulled me aside on set and I mean, I almost started crying. I was so happy for him.”
Matt Had To Keep Clooney's Big News A Secret For A Month
However after Matt realized how early the pregnancy was, he grew slightly concerned and urged George not to tell too many people until Amal had made it safely to the 3 month mark:
“And I was like, ‘How far along is she?’ And he goes, ‘Eight weeks. And so I said are you out of your mind?! Don’t tell anybody else! Don’t tell anybody else! Don’t you know the 12-week rule?’ Like of course he doesn’t.”
"They’re Gonna Be Awesome Parents. Those kids Are Lucky"
Once Amal had safely made it to the 3 month mark however, Matt (and the Clooneys!) could breathe a sigh of relief and when the news was made public, he could finally gush about how excited he was for his close friends:
"I’m thrilled for him. She’s [Amal] amazing. He hit the jackpot. Just on every level. She is a remarkable woman. They’re gonna be great. They’re gonna be awesome parents. Those kids are lucky."
