Whether will be playing Aquaman remains to be seen (he won't), but today there is more news surrounding the actor. According to The Wrap, Damon will be joining the already formidable cast of 's Interstellar. The sci-fi epic will center on space travel via wormholes and boasts a cast that includes , , , , , , , , and . Though full details are being withheld, it has been said that Damon is playing a small role in the film.

In addition, it seems Damon has chosen a project for his directorial debut. Evidently Damon will be directing The Foreigner for Paramount. Based on 2008 New Yorker article, The Foreigner is the story of how a slain Guatemalan man's videotape helped implicate the country's president and first lady in his murder. The script has been written by (Argo).

By the time 2014 rolls around, more compelling news may end up being who ISN'T in Interstellar than who is. While I'm excited to hear he has joined Nolan's film, I'm far more interested in his directorial debut. The story sounds fascinating and many of us will be watching intently to see if Damon will have a -like success in moving to director.
