Y'see, according to Affleck, Damon has been cultivating something of a grudge these past few years — and remains preoccupied not by what he's achieved in his career thus far, but by what he hasn't been able to achieve.

If Affleck's recent appearance on ABC News's Popcorn with Peter Travers is to be believed, Damon may well be having quite the tough time of it. As Affleck put it:

"He's very bitter. ... All he gets to do is Jason Bourne. Just keeps doing it again and again. We get it."

Affleck's comments absolutely can't be believed, since the actor commonly known as Batfleck was quite obviously goofing around — not least because Damon is known for happily never having played a superhero in his career. However, Affleck did have some more genuine and much kinder words for Damon, noting that his old friend has played a key role in keeping the onetime star of Jennifer Lopez's "Jenny From the Block" video and current Bruce Wayne as grounded as he is today.

As Affleck went on to point out:

"I don't think we've changed that much. Last night [Damon] emailed me and said, 'You wanna come over and watch Monday Night Football?' ... Being friends and having a guy to go through all that stuff with. To have a relationship and have a sense of humor about it, it's crucial."

Which is, y'know, nice. It'd be even nicer if Affleck could persuade Damon to play in an upcoming -based movie.
