When it premiered in 2004, no one expected that Tina Fey’s teen comedy Mean Girls would be the cultural sensation that it has become. The film perfectly encapsulates the era in which it was created — much like John Hughes's brat pack films did in the 1980s — and did so in a smart and charming way that made it something special.
The core cast of Mean Girls was outstanding, led by Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, but the supporting characters added perfect touches of humor, cementing the film as one of the best comedies in the last 20 years. Among those supporting cast members was Regina George’s sister Kylie (Nicole Crimi), who really struck a chord with audiences with her wildly inappropriate dance moves.
When the Plastics first arrive at Regina George's house, we are introduced to Regina's mother (Amy Poehler) and sister Kylie as she danced to Kelis's immortal track that brought all the boys to the yard, "Milkshake." While Kylie George didn’t play a huge part in the film, her scenes were hilariously memorable.
In the 13 years since the film was first released, Nicole Crimi’s character still holds a special place in the hearts of many fans, but most people have no idea what the actress has been up to since she played Kylie. While she may not be a huge Hollywood star, Nicole Crimi is now all grown up and — as most people do when they age — looks very different than she did when she played Kylie in Mean Girls.
Kylie George From Mean Girls Is All Grown Up And Has Fond Memories Of Her Role
Movie fans love a good “where are they now?” story, and Nicole Crimi has done a lot since her role in Mean Girls. The 21-year-old is currently finishing her last year at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, and plans to attend medical school after graduation.
Although she hasn’t acted since 2006, Crimi still embraces the world of artistic expression, but she does so as an impressive painter/artist.
Based on Crimi’s Instagram page, it's safe to say that she still has fond memories of her role in the Mean Girls. For the recent Mean Girls Day on October 3rd, Crimi posted a picture of herself on set with her on-screen mother Amy Poehler, along with quotes from the film:
The caption of the post reads as follows:
On October 3rd he asked me what day it was... "It's October 3rd." #nationalmeangirlsday Ps. You should check out her boob job, they're hard as rocks!!
In a 2015 interview with BuzzFeed, Crimi revealed that she still remembers preparing for the role by watching Beyoncé's "Baby Boy" music video. She was also asked what an 18-year-old Kylie George would be like if they ever did a proper sequel (we don’t count Mean Girls 2), to which she replied, “A whole lot like 2004 Regina George, just with a lot more booty-shaking."
Even though Rachel McAdams and Lindsay Lohan want to make an official sequel to Mean Girls, we don’t know if it will ever happen. For now, fans of the film still have the original in all its glory, and until the end of time, they will still be trying to make "fetch" happen.
