Prepare to unfurl your wings and boot up the Batmobile, because Gotham is flying back onto Fox this fall. Hitting its stride and entering Season 4 of the superhero caper about a young Dark Knight, Bruno Heller's show is picking up after a stellar season of villainous rising and heroic origins. More famous faces from the rogue's gallery are waiting in the wings, and it sounds like 's fourth season won't be easing up on the bad guys.

The show is literally a who's who of Batman faces, leading some to already claim that the crime-riddled streets of Gotham City are packed with a few too many villains. Among waddling penguins and smiling jokers, we have puzzling riddlers and immortal men fresh out of the Lazarus Pit. However, are you prepared for one more villain as Sofia Falcone steps up to the big leagues and enter the fray?

Crime Doesn't Pay

Entertainment Weekly has given us a first look of Teen Wolf actress Crystal Reed practicing her best Don Corleone impression for the upcoming fourth season of the show. John Doman has already starred in all four seasons as the bigwig Carmine Falcone, but Reed is stepping in from the shadows as his ambitious mafioso daughter.

The show's executive producer John Stephens told EW that the Falcone family will cause Jim to tread into some morally questionable ground this season on his road to being Commissioner:

"We’re going to see Jim make, in some ways, big steps toward I guess what you would call the commissionership. But also we’re going to see Jim, in his quest to save the city, cross different ethical lines than he ever did before. It’s going to bring him to an ethical nadir that we haven’t seen him at, and it’s going to be told through the context of a relationship that he has with Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Don Falcone, who’s played by Crystal Reed this year. And that’s going to be a really compelling and interesting relationship.”

Given that Sofia has been running her father's mafia interests in the South, the new batch of episodes will see her come to the city with much bigger aspirations.

Lead actor had already teased that the new season of Gotham will follow both the Year One and The Long Halloween arcs of the Caped Crusader's history, so it makes sense that Sofia arrive now. I won't ruin it here, but with the Falcone heiress being a major player in Jeph Loeb's The Long Halloween, expect Reed to have a significant role in the upcoming season. Also, with the possibility of another unhinged woman on Jim's arm, what could possibly go wrong?

Ben McKenzie's hunky officer doesn't have much luck with the women of Gotham, while the inclusion of Sofia could be the icing on the cake. Even though Babs Gordon seemed to bow out in that "shocking" Season 3 finale, and Morena Baccarin's Lee skipped town, we don't expect that either of Jim's former flames will be gone for long. They say that three's a crowd, so how will the women react to a newcomer vying for their beau's affections?

Despite the show focussing largely on McKenzie's pre-Commissioner Gordon, his portrayal has been accused of being a little one-dimensional. Let's hope that the introduction of Sofia and a change to Jim's moral compass with another fiery female by his side can spice up the storyline before we give up and fly out the Batcave.
