It's a great time to be alive if you're a shark fanatic! Last year, we had The Shallows, this summer we have , and next year we have something even bigger on the choppy horizon: Meg.

The film is the highly anticipated adaptation of Steve Alten's 1997 novel. Jason Statham plays a deep-sea diver on a critical mission to rescue a group of scientists who are attacked by a 70-foot megalodon shark. The movie also stars Jessica McNamee, Li Bingbing, Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson and Cliff Curtis.

We still have over a year to wait, as the projected premiere date stands at August 2018, but we now have something to tide us over: artist David Graham has recently created two posters for the upcoming shark thriller featuring the prehistoric beast:

It could be a while before we get an official poster or teaser from the studio, but these two monstrous creations definitely suffice. This isn't the first shark-related movie poster that Graham created; he also recreated the well-known poster for Jaws — the movie which went on to invent the summer blockbuster notion:

Nothing will ever touch the success and affect that Jaws had on the movie industry in terms of shark movies but let's hope that Meg is as big as the titular creature and wreaks havoc on the box office!

Meg hits theaters August 10, 2018.
