In the past few months, director has learned the hard way what happens when you piss off a legion of comic book fans and children of the 80s alike. See, it all started about a year ago, when Bay stated that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would not be mutants at all, but would, in fact, be aliens.

This unleashed a storm of nerdrage the likes of which the internet has never seen (at least not since the last time the internet got mad about something). Well, the outraged howling of fans has apparently been heard by Paramount, with the studio deciding to put the "Teenage Mutant" back into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles last week.

Now Bay himself, more than likely tired of fans screaming for his head, has further clarified that yes, the ooze is back and there will be no aliens. Check out his comments in a recent interview done with Moviefone:

There was that quote saying that we're making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We're not, It's the ooze! It's from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press. I do listen to the fans and I do want this to be authentic. I think they're going to be really happy with this movie. When I see the digital stuff, the turtles look great.

I'm not entirely sure Bay remembers that WE remember that a script was leaked a few months ago, but whatever. As long as there are no aliens, fans will be much appeased.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is shooting for a release date of June 6th of next year, so expect there to be changed before then. Click [[follow]] and we'll keep you updated.
